Originating from Japan, Marimo “Moss” Balls are actually algae that are incredibly easy to maintain and can become the cutest little companion that will live for many years (even decades). Originally from cold water lakes, these friends only require simple water changes, low light and a friendly home. These little balls of love make the best gifts since they symbolize good fortune, patience and ever lasting love.
Our marimos are farm raised in a controlled environment in the USA.
You will receive:
- One 1/2″ Marimo 6-12 months of age
- Borosilicate glass vase.
- Quartz pebbles or stones.
Care guide:
- Use dechlorinated water. You can use tap water, just leave it out overnight to get the chlorine out of the water.
- They like low light. Too much direct light may burn them.
- Change their water every 2 weeks or whenever the water or pet gets dirty.
- You can keep them with the lid but uncovered them once in a while since they need to oxygen.
- To get the dirt off the marimo, simply rinse with some running water.
- If they happen to get brown, change the water immediately , wash them thoroughly.
